A multi-entry temporary visa known as a "Canada Super Visa" enables you to visit your grandchild who is a Canadian citizen or permanent resident and to stay in the country for up to two years each time. For up to ten years, your visa is eligible for repeated entries into Canada.
For parents and grandparents of Canadian citizens or permanent residents, it is a long-term stay visa with many entries.
Although a standard multiple-entry visa similarly has a 10-year maximum validity period, it only permits stays of up to six months per visit.
Eligibility For Super Visa
Applicants must be the parents or grandparents of Canadian citizens or permanent residents to qualify for the super visa. The super visa is not available to people who are dependent on their grandparents or parents. They may still apply for a standard visitor visa. The applicants for super visas must also be approved for admission to Canada and fulfill certain requirements.
Before determining whether a candidate is acceptable, visa officers take into account several factors. Officers must have confidence that the applicant is a real foreign tourist who will leave Canada voluntarily after the conclusion of their stay. The following are a few things the officer may take into account:
1) the person's links to his or her native nation
2) the reason for the trip
3) family and economic circumstances of the person
4) the nation's general political and economic stability
5) invites from hosts in Canada
