Canada Permanent Residence (PR) Eligibility Factors

The Permanent Residence (PR) Visa Point System, also known as the Express Entry System, is a points-based system that is used by Canada and is well-known throughout the world.

Eligibility Factors for Canada Permanent Residence

Using the 67 Points System in Canada Immigration, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) evaluates applicants for the Federal Skilled Workers Program to determine their eligibility. The applicants can proceed if they receive at least 67 points on the Canada 67 points calculator. Under this scheme, a candidate is eligible to receive 100 points in total. If the candidate does not receive at least 67 points, the application will not be accepted.

The following criteria will be used to evaluate your eligibility for Canadian permanent residence:

 

1. Age (12 points)

Age is an important factor in the Canada PR points calculation because younger and middle-aged people receive the most points.

Candidates 18 to 35 years old are eligible for high scores. Their point total declines as they age. One can only receive a maximum of 12 points for age.

 

2. Work Experience (15 Points)

A candidate will perform well if they work full-time for 30 hours each week for a continuous 12 months. A candidate is qualified for the highest point score in the calculator's total of 67 points if they have six years or more of job experience.

 

3. Language (28 Points)

4. Education (25 Points)

5. Arranged Employment (10 Points)

6. Adaptability (10 Points)

Bonus points may be awarded if the candidate already has a relative residing in Canada. The candidate may receive a bonus point total of 10.
